With 1,000 deaths in one day, it’s a bad day for America!

Number of deaths after crossing 80 deaths. Canada is on day-2

Another good day for Canada. We have to stick with our measures to make sure we do better than Germany, which did really well considering how poorly its neighbours are doing. By now we also have reasons to be hopeful that Austria will be similar to Germany and not Italy / France / Spain. Good job, Canada!

Zooming in to days 10–20 to show details

Another bad day for the US. The USA is tracking Spain to the T. It deviated on day 12, but it caught up to where Spain was in its cycle today. There is reason to believe that America will fare worse than Spain.

The real frightening thing is that both Spain and Italy have 200+ deaths per million. USA is at 15, so it has a long, long way to go. Some US States and some US politicians are still not taking it seriously.

America’s death-rate isn’t going down!

You expect the percentage increase in deaths to go down as the total goes up. However, notice the trajectory of other countries compared to the US. The total number of deaths in the US went up by 32% today, which is huge at this stage. Unlike other countries, the American trend-line isn’t going down to zero anytime soon.

So there we have it, a tale of two countries, unfortunately! It underscores why Canada needs to stay the course and why the USA needs a better national strategy because some US States and politicians are still not taking it seriously.
